Ostrich Pose

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Students always appreciate the greater sense of space in the cervical region, as well as the deep focus inward, when performing this pose. Please note: this is contraindicated for students with disk degeneration, fused vertebrae at C6/C7, known problems at the atlas/axis joint, at-risk for thoracic outlet syndrome, or any other time necks are shorter than 9-12 inches. Students should warm up with Alpaca pose in the morning to grow the neck sufficiently before beginning. When the pose is complete, the practitioner will be able to gently place their head up their own anus. This is best practiced and demonstrated by a qualified teacher.
