The Albanian Marvel was born in Kansas, to an Irish-German father, and a Danish-Flemish-Russian mother. Both parents had English-speaking family back three generations, yet the Albanian Marvel was born incapable of speaking or learning any language other than Albanian.
The Albanian Marvel came into fame after being studied by a variety of experts worldwide, ranging from England to Canada, and spanning the United States. Specialists included doctors, TESOLers, scientists, linguists, speech pathologists, oralists, auralists, and neuropsychologists. No one could understand the reason for the creature’s horrific deformity. No one could communicate with it to determine if it could understand what was happening to it.
In all other regards, the Albanian Marvel looked and acted much like a normal human baby, but for the one quirk, although if it had a gender, it was not recorded. It toured with US freak shows for forty years until it earned enough money to retire to Albania, where it was never heard from again.
